Longtime Wisconsin journalist and past president of NBNA Jim Cullen passed away this week, after a long battle with brain cancer. Jim was a proud Eau Claire grad, a passionate newsman and a dear friend. He worked on the assignment desk at WISN-TV and for the past 15 years was managing editor at WTMJ-TV. He was honored for his great work throughout his career with numerous awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters, the AP and more. Leaders from the Midwest Journalism Conference’s member organizations will meet on Saturday, September 28th in the Twin Cities to begin the planning process for the 2014 conference. The planning committee will review ideas for sessions and each group will be assigned time slots for fine-tuning the topics for discussion, finding speakers and preparing for their audiences. The MJC continues to be one of the most affordable ways to get high-quality journalism training close to home.
